Lisa Cowart

Lisa Cowart, LPC-S, RPT-S, NCC, has been serving children who have experienced abuse and their non-offending family members at Children’s of Alabama at a center called Children’s Hospital Intervention and Prevention Services (CHIPS)for 17 years. Lisa currently coordinates services at CHIPS for the counseling program and previously has provided supervision and therapy at CHIPS. In her roles at CHIPS, Lisa helped create, maintain, and update suicide guidelines and provide education for professionals, children, and caregivers. Lisa has always had a passion for the prevention of suicide and continues to help educate and promote awareness when opportunities present. As a counselor, community member, and parent, Lisa wants to continue to build skills, awareness, and connections to prevent suicide.
