Description
Adopted and foster children have often been victims of trauma such as physical and sexual abuse, neglect, exposure to violence, attachment trauma or early sexualization, which can all be at the root of sexually compulsive behavior. Adding to this, the proliferation of technology in recent years has changed the way that adolescents learn about, engage in, and experience sexuality, leading to an increase in sexual behavior problems among youth. To complicate things even more, adolescents tend to receive very little direct, accurate information about sexuality and intimacy, and the information they receive from pop culture, politicians, parents, clergy, and school can often be contradictory.
This webinar will address the current state of affairs in teen sexual behavior, how their trauma history can impact the development of healthy sexuality, and how caring adults can intervene and promote healthy sexual behavior.
