It is commonly said that the topic of birth parents is the most difficult aspect of adoption and foster care to navigate. This is for a variety of reasons but do we honestly feel the experiences of birth families within the child welfare system matter? Why or why not? How does it ultimately affect permanency and are we geared toward achieving compliance or collaboration when we engage with birth parents?
This webinar will explore these questions and identify the changeable barriers to positive working relationships with birth families. It will also examine the practical methodologies that work and those that don’t.
