Rachel Roberts, LBSW

Rachel has over 10 years of child welfare experience in various sectors. She received her BSW from Jacksonville State University and her MSW from the University of Alabama. Rachel began her career in child welfare providing supervised visitation, transportation, and parenting skills training during her undergrad work. Her social work career has carried her from child abuse/neglect assessments with DHR, to recruitment, training, & licensing of therapeutic and specialized foster parents, to hospice care, and to supporting adoptive families in Alabama. She has worked with Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Connections since 2015, and currently leads the Pre-Adoption Services team. She has had the joy of presenting on the preservation of a child’s history while in foster care, the voice of the adopted child, building & strengthening adoptive families, and secondhand trauma. Rachel has a passion for birth family connections, developing strong resource families, and has a strong interest in social work supervision and administration. She currently resides in Pell City with her husband and 6 year old son. British television, 70s music, and yoga are the way to her heart.
