Debra B. Fredenburg, LCSW is the Family Therapist of Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Services (APAC) in Mobile. She has a Master in Social Work and is a certified as a Trauma and Loss Consultant and School Specialist. Debra has worked as an administrator of non-profit programs and has extensive experience working with family and children providing individual, family and group clinical services as well as in crisis intervention, assessment services, screening for psychiatric hospitalizations, and educational instruction. Throughout her career she has worked collaboratively with social service agencies, the court system, schools and medical providers.
Emily Patterson, LGSW, is an Alabama native who joined Children Aid Society’s APAC team in 2015 as the Family Support Worker III for the Mobile Bay area. Emily first had the desire to pursue a social work career when she began working part-time as a college student at First Light, Inc., a shelter for chronically homeless women in Birmingham. Emily has experience serving children in therapeutic foster care and has provided in-home clinical interventions for families involved with the child welfare system. Emily also has worked as a medical social worker in nursing home and hospice care, where she trained families in advance care planning and in caring for patients with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. She received a B.S. in Social Work and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. After attending UAB, Emily spent two years working with Campus Crusade for Christ in Argentina on college campuses and in rural impoverished areas. Emily currently resides in Fairhope, Alabama, where she enjoys gardening, keeping up with politics, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their various pets.
