Description of talk:
Participants will explore emerging applications of AI in assessment, documentation, supervision, case planning, and administrative decision-making, alongside the potential benefits and ethical risks these tools present. Using the Ethical Courage Decision-Making Model, the training emphasizes practical, values- based approaches to navigating ethical dilemmas related to confidentiality, transparency, informed consent, and professional accountability.
Training Objectives:
1. Recognize potential benefits and risks of AI tools
2. Apply the Ethical Courage Decision-making Model to real-world scenarios involving AI use in child welfare, family services, and related human service settings.
3. Implement transparent and ethically sound practices when using AI

Dayna Guido
Dayna Guido, MSW, LCSW, ACSW maintains a private practice in Asheville, NC. Working in human services for over 47 years she specializes in clinical supervision and ethics. Dayna is the author of Creative Ways to Learn Ethics, co-author of The Parental Tool Box for Parents and Clinicians, and co-author of Using AI in Social Work Supervision: Ethical Tools for Human-Centered Practice with Marina Badillo-Diaz, forthcoming April 2027.
