Training Objectives
To train law enforcement, fire/EMS first responders, child protective services and child serving agency staff in effective uniform protocols to recognize, rethink and respond to child trafficking.
6.5 APOST or Social Work Credit Hours Available.
Materials to be covered includes:
--The crime of child trafficking, including on-line, sex and labor trafficking
--Partners who can help law enforcement
--Recognizing, rethinking, and responding best practices in common encounter scenarios
--Trauma- informed, victim-centered response, including those who are culturally diverse.

Training Content
Material is presented in multi-faceted format by a multi-agency training team. Topics covered include defining human and child trafficking including sex and labor trafficking definitions, federal and state laws including elements for prosecution, considerations for evidence collection, best practices for interviewing and screening children, documentation, collaborations between law enforcement, first responders, juvenile justice, child protective services across jurisdictions, who to call for what and when.
