This webinar equips parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, summer camp, VBS, child and youth workers with practical tools to protect children and youth from internet threats and online exploitation. Participants will learn about grooming techniques, warning signs, risk factors, internet safety conversations, and how to respond when incidents occur. Practical tools, evidence-based resources, handouts, and prevention strategies will be shared to help families stay safe online and know where to turn for help when threats or crimes arise, including sextortion.

Learning Goals:
To train parents and caregivers in effective approaches to help identify trafficking and online exploitation in their homes and communities and respond appropriately.
In this training, you will learn:
- How children become involved in online grooming and exploitation,
- The vulnerabilities that increase a child’s risk of being trafficked.
- The importance of having active participation by parents and caregivers in training kids on how to be safe online and in their day-to-day lives.
- How to recognize a human trafficking victim.
- How societal factors including social media and online predators contribute to demand for commercial exploitation of minors.
- Tools that can be utilized by families and those who work with youth and children to help prevent and respond quickly to online exploitation and trafficking.
