Description
We are living in unprecedented times as the realities of the Covid-19 pandemic spread across our communities. Gathering of 10 or more are strongly discouraged, most schools are closed indefinitely, many parents are unexpectedly working from home or even out of work altogether. In the midst of all this, we are also often faced with our own emotions – grief, loss, anger, anxiety, confusion, and frustration – and the very real impact of secondary trauma. How do we cope with this mix of emotions while also doing our job and being the parents we want to be during this time? This webinar will help participants to understand, express, and cope with their own emotions as well as creating a self-care plan to develop resilience in the face of uncertainty and circumstances that chance daily. Learning Objectives: As a result of this session participants will be able to:
1. Define loss, grief, trauma and resilience
2. Understand vicarious trauma or secondary traumatic stress
3. Gain capacity to recognize their own warning signs
4. Utilize at least three strategies to adapt their own self-care during the Covid-19 crisis
