This will be a broad look at ethics in social work practice to include: NASW Code of Ethics review; ethical considerations with documentation and best practices; technology and ethics in the age of AI; and common ethical dilemmas and how to handle them.
Training Objecties:
1) Understand the purpose and value of the NASW Code of Ethics
2) Ethical considerations in documenting client services
3) Ethical considerations for the use of AI in Social Work
4) How to identify and handle an ethical dilemma responsibly
Speaker & Bio

Caron Sandefur, LICSW-S PIP
Ms. Sandefur completed her Social Work degrees at the University of Nebraska, Omaha in 1991. She then moved to Alabama and has been a Licensed Certified Social Worker since 1995. She has over 35 years of experience in child welfare including casework to support families with developmentally challenged children, counseling adolescents at a psychiatric residential treatment center, group therapy for survivors of sexual abuse, developing and directing a transitional living program for youth aging out of Foster Care and counseling in a non-profit outpatient setting. Eventually she worked her way into training new clinicians and eventually leadership roles. For the last 15 years she has navigated two non-profits through the accreditation process multiple times; providing quality improvement and best practices oversight; risk management and mitigation as well as social work licensure and intern supervision with high standards and grace.
