Training Objectives
To train law enforcement, criminal justice, child protective services and child serving agency staff in effective uniform response protocols to recognize, rethink and respond to child trafficking.
6.5 APOST or Social Work Credit Hours Available.
Materials to be covered includes:
--The crime of child trafficking, including on-line, sex and labor trafficking
--Partners who can help law enforcement
--Recognizing, rethinking, and responding best practices in common encounter scenarios
--Trauma- informed, victim-centered response, including those who are culturally diverse.
Hosted in partnership with the Ft. Payne Police Department. Open to first responders, EMA, police, fire and front-line child serving personnel from any jurisdiction within Alabama.

Training Content
Material is presented in multi-faceted format by a multi-disciplinary training team. Topics covered include defining human and child trafficking including sex and labor trafficking definitions, federal and state laws including elements for prosecution, considerations for evidence collection, best practices for interviewing and screening children, documentation, Uniform Response Protocol for law enforcement, juvenile justice and child welfare interface following uniform response protocol across jurisdictions, who to call for what and when.
